Rules & Regulations of the Vidyalaya

Rules Regarding leaves
Only autumn, winter break and Summer vacation is available for students.
Hostel Rules 
1. 
Parents/Guardians are bound by the school rules in all respects.  In all matters of dispute, the decision of the Principal is final.
2.
The parents/guardians are expected to encourage their wards to participate in compulsory activities like tours, trekking, expeditions & camping etc. during their stay in the school.
3.
Parents are advised to meet their wards in Vidyalaya campus with prior permission of House Master/Class Teacher. Students can not leave the campus without prior permission of House 
Master or Class Teacher.
4.
House Master will inform the parents in case of illness or any other unavoidable 
circumstances. 
5.
The parents/guardians will authorize the Principal and  his/her staff  to act as local 
parents of their wards while they are in the school or on tours, treks, expedition, 
camps etc.
6.
The Principal is fully empowered to expel a student from school and hostel if in her 
opinion the student has failed to follow the discipline of the school and his continued 
presence is detrimental to the school.
7.
All parents will sign an agreement and a statement of undertaking with the school at 
the time when their son/ward joins the school. 


Other Rules
1.
Food parcels from parents are not encouraged. In case they are sent, the contents of the 
parcels are checked and shared among the inmates of the House.
2.
Students are not allowed to keep cash with them. No money is to be given to them and no 
money should be sent directly to the students. Any unauthorized money found with the 
students may be confiscated and credited to Social Service League. Students are given 
pocket money every fortnight. Borrowing or lending of money and other personal belonging 
from each other is strictly prohibited.
3.
Students are expected to write one letter a week. The school to be intimated immediately 
if there is any change of correspondence address.
4.
Students are not allowed to keep Walkman, transistors, electric shavers, cameras, mobiles 
or other expensive articles with them in the hostels.
5.
Private clothes are not allowed.
6.
For ordinary ailments parents are not informed. If a student is admitted to the hospital, information is sent to the guardian.
7.
All correspondence by parents/guardians should be addressed to the Principal.
8.
Parents and guardians are not allowed to meet their wards directly in their Houses. 
9.
Ragging in any form is totally and strictly prohibited. Harassment, thieving, teasing or 
any form of ill treatment inflicted on juniors or others students will constitute a serious 
offense and may result in the expulsion of the offender from the school. No fund 
raising or collection for any  purpose is allowed in the school.

Fourteen Points Programme For Monitoring Safety and Security of Children
1. Daily verification of M.O.D. report by the Principal.
2. Monthly updating of students medical record and verification by the Principal.
3. Daily visit of House Master to dormitory, interaction with children particularly migrated 
children, and verification of issue of students article.
4. Availability of drinking water and maintenance of running water facility to toilets and 
bathrooms.
5. Nominating a suitable counselor for counseling of emotionally disturbed children.
6. Assigning rotational responsibility to designated staff for supervision of physical 
hazards / danger points in and around campus and taking remedial action.
7. Weekly review meeting by Principal with House Masters and House Captains.
8. Monitoring of  Vidyalaya Control Register, M & R/Complaint Register and grievance 
box  directly by Principal.
9. Locking dormitory during day time and school building during night.
10. Cleaning of bushes and adequate lightening in the campus.
11. Regulating entry/exit at main gate.
12. Proper repair of boundary walls.
13. Monthly fumigation in campus to control insects/mosquitoes.
14. Sick children to stay in MI room under supervision of Staff Nurse and not in dormitories 
during day time.
