Salient Features of the Vidyalaya

• Good quality modern education for talented students predominately from rural area.
• Candidates – Rural, at least 75% and Urban utmost 25%.
• Reservation of seats for students from SC/ST categories in proportion to their population in the district subject to the national minimum.
• Reservation of seats for girls – 33%.
• Co-educational and fully residential, up to class XII.
• Free Education including boarding and lodging as well as expenses on uniforms, text-books, and stationary etc.
• Affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) New Delhi.
• Admission in class VI only through objective type test designed and conducted by the CBSE in the district. Admission through Lateral entry is also done in IX & XI class.
• Implementation of three language formula.
• Regional languages as medium of instruction for first three years. Hindi/English afterwards.
• We have English Medium from class VI to onwards for science and Math and Hindi Medium for Social studies.
• 30% of students in class IX from a Vidyalaya located in one linguistic area spend on academic year in a Vidyalaya in a different linguistic region to promote national integration through understanding of the diversity and plurality of country’s culture and people.
• Unit of NCC in Vidyalaya: The motto of NCC is UNITY and DISCIPLINE and the AIM of NCC is to develop a human resource of organized, trained, motivated youth, to provide leadership in all works and ways of life and always available for the service of the Nation. And also to provide a suitable environment to motivate youth to join Armed Forces. Keeping in the view of AIM and Motto of NCC, our Vidyalaya is running a half troop of NCC smoothly since the year 2008 under guidance of one Associate NCC Officer. The NCC Unit of this Vidyalaya was raised in the year 2008 vide letter no.11NCC/28/TRG (iii) dated 27 NOV,2008 of 11 Haryana BN NCC Bhiwani, under Group HQ Rohtak and Directorate of Chandigarh. At present, half JD troop of 50 cadets is running smoothly in the Vidyalaya. A number of students have successfully completed their “A” certificate till dated. In addition every year the full vacancy for annual training camp is utilized by the Vidyalaya. The cadets of our Vidyalaya have performed outstandingly in the various competition held at Annual Training Camps. The parade days are fixed as Saturday of every week. The cadets practices for drills, fire fighting practices, weapon classes, First Aids and civil safety. The cadets of Vidyalaya has also actively contributed in ‘Pulse Polio Drives’ and plantation. They contribute in awareness programmes regarding health and hygiene, HIV-AIDS, Drugs abuse and Anti-tobacco drives.
